After losing two out of their last three games the Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team were looking to get back in the win column with a trip to Terre Haute South High School on Monday evening. The visiting Pioneers got the scoring started in the top of the second inning plating four to take a 4-0 lead. The Braves would score a run in the bottom of the second inning to cut the Pioneers lead to 4-1. Mooresville would add four in the top of the fourth inning to take a seven run lead (8-1) through three and a half innings. Terre Haute South made things interesting for the Pioneers scoring two in the bottom of the fifth to cut Mooresville's lead to five with two innings to play. Mooresville would score four final runs over the span of the sixth and seventh inning to secure their eighth win of the season, 12-7. The Pioneers and Grizzly Cubs enter Tuesday's Mid State Conference contest tied for first place with 5-1 records, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm.
