Mooresville Pioneers Monday Night Varsity Final: Mooresville Pioneers- 0 Cathedral Irish- 2

The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team entered Monday's non conference matchup with the Cathedral Irish riding a 2 game losing streak. Monday's game was originally scheduled to be played at Cathedral, due to field conditions at Cathedral the game was moved to Mooresville High School. Cathedral was the home team on the score board and got out to an early 1-0 lead after the first inning. The game remained scoreless for the final four and half innings before the Irish tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead into the top of the seventh. Mooresville was unable to score in the top half of the seventh as the Cathedral Irish would collect their tenth win of the season, 2-0. Starting pitcher Grant Martin threw six strong innings, despite the loss, Martin threw his best game of his Varsity career. In six innings of work Martin allowed 3 hits, 2 runs, walked 5, and struck out 4 Cathedral hitters. The Junior left hander was in control the entire outing, working through a tough Cathedral Irish lineup. The Pioneers offense was unable to take advantage of early scoring opportunities and was held scoreless in Monday's loss. The Pioneers will look to end their three game losing streak on Tuesday as they travel to Greenwood to take on the Woodmen in game one of their home and home Mid State Conference two game series, first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm. #mooresvillepioneersbaseball2025
