Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Tuesday Final: Mooresville Pioneers- 5 Greenwood Woodmen- 3

The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team entered Tuesday nights Mid State Conference matchup with the Greenwood Woodmen riding a three game losing streak. Greenwood took an early 2-0 lead after the first inning, the Pioneers scored two in the top of the third inning to tie the game at two. Mooresville took the lead for good in the top of the third inning score three runs to take a 5-2 lead. Greenwood would pull within two, scoring a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the Pioneers lead to 5-3. Mooresville would close things out in the bottom of the seventh to collect their ninth win of the year and stop their losing streak at three games. With win, the Pioneers improve to 9-6 on the season and are currently 6-3 in the Mid State Conference. Starting pitcher Kooper Schmitt threw 5 strong innings to collect the win. Schmitt allowed 7 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 5 in his 5 innings of work. Kiernan Herald entered the game in the sixth inning, Herald allowed 1 hit, no runs, no walks, and struck out 2 Woodmen to earn the save. The Mooresville offense scored 5 runs on 8 hits to go along with 5 RBI, 5 walks, and 2 strikeouts. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action on Wednesday as they will host Greenwood in game two of the Mid State Conference home and home two game series, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00pm. #mooresvillepioneersbaseball2025
