Mooresville Girls Tennis Falls to Plainfield in Conference Matchup

The Mooresville Girls Tennis Team hosted Plainfield for a Mid-State Conference showdown at the Pioneers’ home courts. The visiting Quakers claimed a 4-1 victory at the varsity level and a 9-1 win in the junior varsity contest. Mooresville's lone varsity win came at No. 1 singles, where Lyla Kaufman battled through a tough three-set match to outlast her opponent, winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. In JV action, the team’s only win came from the doubles pair of Emily Mettas and Carissa Kennedy, who secured a 6-4 victory. With the results, the varsity team moves to 8-10 on the season, while the JV squad stands at 4-9-1. The Pioneers return to the court on Thursday, traveling to Whiteland for another conference matchup beginning at 5 p.m.
