Pioneers Face Providence and Evansville North

The Mooresville boys tennis team traveled to Providence High School to take on both Providence and Evansville North. While the Pioneers competed well at several spots, they came up short in both matches. Against Providence, the Pioneers varsity fell 4-1. The lone victory came at #1 doubles, where Archer Query and Brady McNally won 6-4, 6-1. Against Evansville North, the varsity battled hard but dropped a close 3-2 decision. Archer Query earned a straight-set win at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-3, while Baylor Query fought back for a gritty 1-6, 7-5, 11-9 victory at #2 singles. In JV play, the Pioneers tied both schools with identical 1-1 scores. Grayson Furniss picked up a 6-1 win against Providence, while Ben Coffey won 6-0 against Evansville North. With the results, the varsity record stands at 10-8 on the season, while the JV moves to 6-8-2. Mooresville returns to action on Tuesday, September 23, when they host International School of Indiana at 5:30 p.m. in a non-conference match.
